Dis-Chem Pharmacy and Dis-Chem foundation sponsored Oudtshoorn with 21 600 liters of bottled water

Oudtshoorn, 29 August 2018 – Last week Dis-Chem’s team of employers delivered 21 600 liters of water to the Oudtshoorn Fire Station as their way of showing support in Oudtshoorn’s water crisis.  According to Gert Jansen van Vuuren, an employee at Dis-Chem Pharmacy, a client from Oudtshoorn called them to ask for their help and Dis-Chem decided that they will be able to help Oudtshoorn with some water.

Corrie Mei who is also an employee at Dis-Chem in George said that residents of Oudtshoorn are more than welcome to make use of they services as they also do free deliveries to Oudtshoorn.  “We are very happy that we can be of some help to the community of Oudtshoorn,” he said. “We live by our motto which is Dis-Chem. Every day, in every way, we strive to be “Pharmacist who care”.

The bottled water was handed over to Mr. Murray-Wayne Konnie, Manager: Fire and Disaster Manangement who received it on behalf of the Greater Oudtshoorn. “We are extremely greatful to Dis-Chem Pharmacy and the Dis-Chem Foundation who opened their hearts to Oudtshoorn by showing that they care about our people”.

“On behalf of the municipality I would like to thank Dischem and their staff members for this generousity.  We are really greatful.” was the words from the Deputy Mayor, Noluthando Mwati.
